Gary Glitter, famous for singing"Hello, Hello, I'm back Again" and "I'm the Leader of the Gang (I Am)" returned to UK on Friday after being turned away from Bangkok, Hongkong and Singapore.
The papparazzi was waiting for him after being in jail in Vietnam for child sex offences.
Glitter, 64, was released from jail in Vietnam on Tuesday after serving three-year sentence. He was then flown to Bangkok, and claimed to be sick with heart problems.
Asking to be put to HongKong, he was turned away and sent back to Bangkok. After in limbo for a day, he was wisked to London on Thai Airways.
He feared the famous British tabloid would follow his every moves. Now with bearded and disguised by cap and scarve, he looks almost like any backpackers returning from Asia.
His downward spiral began when caught with child pornography was discovered in his PC. His trial ,with expensive lawyers does not help, moving to Cambodia and Vietnam and caught with abuse of young girls. Convicted to three years, he was set free and deported to Bangkok and thence to UK. Being in the registry of Sex Offenders, he is obliged to report any change of address. The tabloids have as usual splashed his homecoming negatively.
